Arsenal drawn against Liverpool in Carabao Cup fourth round – Football.London

Arsenal have found out their opponents in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, with a trip to Anfield to take on Premier League leaders Liverpool standing in the way of a place in the fifth round.

Unai Emery’s men eased through the third round tie vs Championship side Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, with goals from Rob Holding, Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and a Gabriel Martinelli brace ensuring that Arsenal booked their place in the fourth round draw.

Liverpool had a slightly closer call, but a 2-0 win over MK Dons saw them safely through to the next round.

Arsenal will be looking to get revenge on the Reds, as they are the only team to have taken all three points from Emery’s men so far this season. Liverpool came out as 3-1 winners when the teams last met in August thanks to goals from Joel Matip and Mo Salah.

Liverpool are currently the leader at the top of the Premier League, meaning that their concentration may be on consolidating their place in that position in the league, in order to win their first title.

The game against Liverpool in the League Cup will be played on the week commencing 28th October.
