AN ARSENAL fan was given a taste of his own medicine after attempting to troll Roma and former player Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The midfielder left the Gunners for the Italian side this summer having failed to cut the mustard in the Premier League.
Mkhitaryan, 30, wasted little time in making his mark in Serie A by scoring on his debut in a 4-2 victory over Sassuolo.
The Armenian finished brilliantly with his left foot after being played through on goal to bag the third of the contest.
Roma tweeted out: “ON. HIS. DEBUT. @HenrikhMkh makes it 3-0 after 22 minutes.”
With Arsenal also appearing to cruise past Watford, one Gunners fan named Smokey saw the opportunity to make a quick jibe.
He replied: “We’re currently 2-0 without him, please keep him.”
A howler by Sokratis in the second half gifted Watford a way back into the contest in which Smokey then wrote: “Not today Arsenal, not today. Come on.”
His misery was compounded in the 81st minute when a clumsy David Luiz challenge ensured Arsenal would throw away two points when Roberto Pereyra scored from the spot.
And Roma saw it as the perfect occasion to get their own back on Smokey.
Along with a picture of the full-time score, they simply commented: “Not today Smokey, not today.”
Roma have one of the best Twitter accounts in the business and are often making people eat their words.
But one supporter, Marco Nicolai, wrote: “Even I could have scored that goal against Parma”.
So they invited him to the stadium to see if he could really score that goal… but ended up on his backside.
