Arsenal boss Unai Emery should be playing Joe Willock on a regular basis.
That’s according to Jermaine Jenas, who reckons the youngster is the Gunners player to keep an eye on this season.
Willock has made four appearances for Arsenal so far this campaign and came off the bench at Vicarage Road last time out as the Gunners threw away two points against Watford.
The 20-year-old, who has been associated with the club since the age of four, will now be looking to make more appearances in the first team.
One man who is confident that he will, and who rates him very highly, is Jenas.
“I am going to go with Joe Willock,” said Jenas, when asked to name the most exciting young player in the top flight on BBC Match of the Day.
“He is powerful, a good runner and he has played a bit deeper at times, but I watched him when he came on in the final in the Europa League against Chelsea – and he could have scored then.
“I think Arsenal have got a good one there. I would play him, I think he should be in their team on a regular basis.”
Willock recently signed a new long-term deal at Arsenal.
Upon putting pen to paper on the contract, which is believed to run until 2023, he said: “It is only right in my heart and my mind to continue my career here.
“The manager has put a lot of faith in not just me but a load of youngsters so far this season – every day in training he is encouraging to us.”
